Objective: Students will be able to identify and describe the basic parts of a computer.
Materials:
- Computer
- Projector
- Whiteboard or chart paper
- Markers

Introduction (Engage):
- Begin the lesson by asking students if they know what a computer is and what it is used for.
- Show a picture of a computer on the projector and ask students to identify the different parts they see.
- Explain that today, they will be learning about the different parts of a computer and their functions.
Lesson Outline (Explore, Explain, Elaborate):
- Display a chart paper or whiteboard with the following headings: Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, CPU (Central Processing Unit).
- Explain each part of the computer using simple language and visuals:
a. Monitor: Explain that it is the screen where we can see what we are doing on the computer. b. Keyboard: Explain that it is used to type letters, numbers, and symbols into the computer. c. Mouse: Explain that it is used to move the cursor on the screen and click on things. d. CPU: Explain that it is like the brain of the computer, where all the information is processed.

- Instruct students to label the different parts of the computer using the words provided.
- Circulate the classroom to provide assistance and check for understanding.
Differentiation:
- For students who need additional support, provide them with a word bank on their worksheet to help them label the parts of the computer.
- For students who need a challenge, ask them to write a short sentence describing the function of each part of the computer.
Plenary (Evaluate):
- Review the different parts of the computer by asking students to share what they have learned.
- Ask a few students to come to the front and point to the different parts of the computer on the chart paper or whiteboard.
- Provide positive feedback and reinforce the importance of understanding the different parts of a computer.
